Design Manager

August 2017 - October 2019

Located in Philadelphia, USA, I was responsible for all Furniture, Upholstery and Lighting design - managing a team of designers to create unique, aspirational products. Working alongside the Creative Director and the Concept Team we delivered new direction and trends each season, identifying new product categories to create a market leading aesthetic. Starting with hand sketches we created the designs and product direction for the season, moving into 3D modelling to produce renderings and finally full technical drawings for sampling. I worked very closely with the buying and production team to push our factories and vendors to source new materials and techniques. My team and I also created ‘swatch requests’ based on the concept, to really push newness in our designs. At the start of creating the seasonal assortment I worked with my team to establish workloads and individual directives for each of my designers, managing the design calendar to ensure deadlines and targets were met. I then worked with them throughout the season to help shape and develop their sketches.
